Dear Residents, Community Members and Valued Partners,

We are excited to introduce a new

company initiative focused on giving back, creating meaningful partnerships, and making a positive impact beyond the communities that we serve.

As part of this initiative, we will be partnering with nonprofit organizations whose missions align with our values and provide meaningful opportunities to help others. We are proud to announce that our first partnership is with Waykichay, an organization dedicated to helping children in the mountain communities of Peru gain better access to education.

Waykichay collects old and donated bicycles, refurbishes them, and provides them to children that need them for transportation to and from school. For children living in remote mountain communities, the journey to school can be difficult and time-consuming. Having a bicycle can make that journey easier and help children attend school more consistently.

But this initiative is much more than bicycles.

It is about opportunity.

Education can open doors to possibilities that can change the course of a child’s life. By helping a child get to school, we are helping remove one of the barriers that can stand between them and those opportunities. A bicycle that may no longer have a purpose for one person can become an important part of another child’s journey toward education, independence, and a brighter future.

We are asking our communities, employees, residents and partners to join us in this effort. If you have an old, broken or unused bicycle, we encourage you to consider donating it. Rather than allowing a bicycle to sit unused, together we can give it a second life and help put it in the hands of a child who truly needs it.

There are many ways to be part of this initiative. You can donate a bicycle, make a financial contribution, volunteer your time, help collect or prepare bicycles, or even personally participate in delivering bicycles to the children. Being there personally to give a bicycle can be an incredibly meaningful and fulfilling experience, and we hope to create opportunities for those who would like to be involved in that way.
